We welcomes NDIS client
Psychological trauma isn’t just about what happened, but how those events have impacted your sense of safety, identity, and meaning. Whether your trauma was a single event or occurred over years, it can leave deep emotional imprints such as intrusive memories, avoidance of people or places, constant fear, emotional numbness, or shame.
At Reverence Recovery, we offer trauma-informed care that’s grounded in compassion and clinical experience. We work with clients living with PTSD, complex trauma, childhood neglect, relationship violence, medical trauma, and systemic harm. Many clients come to us after years of “coping” — through overfunctioning, emotional shutdown, or even disordered behaviours like eating or substance use. We honour your experiences and these adaptations, while helping you find safer, more sustainable ways of living, relating, and being with yourself.
Therapy for trauma is not about telling your whole story all at once — it’s about slowly rebuilding a sense of safety, both in your body and in your relationships. We begin by noticing together: what unsettles and overwhelms you, what grounds you, and what helps you stay present. We then gently move to exploring the protective patterns you’ve developed — hypervigilance, avoidance, destinct behaviours — and whether they’re still serving you.
Our work might include trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, parts work (including inner child or internal family systems-informed approaches), or mindfulness-based strategies. These efforts are all aimed to help re-establish internal safety, improve emotional regulation, and reduce trauma-related symptoms. These treatment strategies aren’t rigid protocols, but flexible tools used only when they support your healing. Whether it’s managing flashbacks, softening shame, setting boundaries, or reclaiming your agency, we tailor the process to your needs.
You don’t have to tell your entire story in the first session. And you don’t have to go through it alone. Healing from trauma is possible.
